One of the biggest energy saving opportunities for schools is the reduction of out-of-hours energy use. The average school uses more than 60% of their energy when the school is closed to pupils and about a quarter of this is during holidays.

We have designed this programme of pupil activities and staff actions to help you perfect your holiday switch off routine. After each holiday, your out of hours advice pages will show how much energy was used in your school during the holiday and as long as we have enough energy data for you, we'll compare it against the amount of energy used in the same holiday last year.
