Each class, from Year 1 to Year 6, held a poll to vote who would best serve their classes 'green' interests.
Each class (excluding reception) have a representative.
The school is part of the Green Flag scheme and so conducted a survey to best decide which areas the school should be working on this year (2022/23), and energy usage was highlighted as an area we should focus on.
With some research, as the Eco lead, found Energy sparks and pitched it to the children. They were excited to get on board.
This February we were signed up and have already completed an audit of the amount of devices left on during the lunch break.
The children will make signs to remind people to turn lights off.
They also plan to place color coded dots on each plug that will highlight the user when to turn off.
This will be explained to staff and children in a whole school assembly run by the Eco team.
The children also noticed the photocopier machine and wanted to know how much that is used and if we could reduce its usage for paper and electric.
