Children spoke to Kitchen staff about only switching appliances on when needed and turning them off straight away when not in use. The monitored this every lunchtime with help from the Caretaker. 

The canteen use industrial microwaves to heat food which use less energy than hobs and ovens. Hot plate trolley is turned on when needed and turned off straight away once heated. 

Fridges and freezer are switched off during school holidays.
