When updating the Year 7 curriculum, I included a lesson about how transport choices lead to air pollution around London. We learned about how the use of cars for people's daily commute is contributing to high concentrations of nitrogen oxide along the main roads and students analysed a heat map to identify areas that were at the greatest risk from air pollution. Students were asked to reflect on how the choices they make when travelling can impact the environment and were tasked with thinking of some solutions to this challenge.
