Our Office Manager, Facilities Manager and IT team met to discuss ways to reduce energy consumption within the academy.

We discussed:
- pushing a new computer script to shut down computers at 5 and 6pm during the week.
- introducing energy smart plugs to shut down reprographic printers and smaller printers around the school.
- purchasing new monitors that are energy efficient and phasing out older models.
- which devices can be switched over the weekends.
- flood lights being replaced on the football pitches with energy efficient lighting.
- Installing solar panels on the specialism building and the potential energy savings vs outlay in costs.
