Our eco-group planned and led a whole school assembly jointly with Paula from energy sparks. The eco-group researched what we use energy for at our school, how fossil fuels are made and how we can reduce our energy consumption at Dalneigh. They then put this information into a slideshow and presented this to the whole school. Paula explained to the school what energy is and how we get it. She then talked about why we don't want to waste energy and made the link to climate change. Our children were able to contribute relevant information to the discussion at assembly as we had covered aspects of this education during COP26. To finish off the assembly we explored the energy sparks website and in particular our own school's energy consumption.
